Timbavati Wildlife Park at Storybook Gardens
1500 Wisconsin Dells Parkway (608) 253-2391
Website: www.storybookgardens.net
About: Storybook gardens was one of the original tourist attractions, existing since the 1950's. Within
the gardens, you'll find statues and kid-size structures that pay tribute to classic fairy tales; The Three
Bears, Pinnochio, Jack and the Beanstalk, Alice in Wonderland, and more. You might be asked by a
real-life Cinderella to help find her shoe! The gardens also has a carousel (unlimited rides covered by
the admission charge), park equipment, and "train" ride through to park. Timbavati Wildlife was added
years ago, giving you close-up experiences with many animals. You can feed many animals, including
friendly giraffe or a baby zebra, take a ride on a camel, or sit in a section of bleachers for one of
several short wildlife shows, scheduled several times throughout the day (an educational & entertaining
presentation of some exotic animals, allowing children to see and touch animals after the presentation.)
If you go: This is a quiet, smaller attraction and you can stroll or play at your own pace, and have a
picnic lunch under a shade tree. Bring your own food, or purchase food at their concession stand,
which offers indoor seating. There are rest rooms and vending machines in the park. A Dairy Queen
restaurant is also in the same parking lot, so you can choose to dine there before your visit or to take
food back to your hotel or campsite.
