Daytime Dates Can Be Special Too                               - Back -
    By Kelly Rush

If you’re like most couples, you’re probably guilty of not dating your spouse since the kids have
wondrously filled your home and your schedule. Maybe you’re not comfortable with a young babysitter
handling bedtime in your absence. Or perhaps you have a friend that’s offered to watch your child at
their house in the afternoon to play with their kids; however, that’s not exactly a solution when you want
to go out for an evening date with your spouse. If these obstacles sound familiar, then you haven’t
thought of all of the special things you and your spouse could be doing together during daylight hours.

In preparation of a last-minute opportunity to utilize a babysitter, have a list ready of things you’d like to
do in the event that you have a couple of hours without kids. Then, be sure to assign your spouse to
    make their own list too.

Here are some examples that might appeal to you:
    -        Bike ride
    -        Walk
    -        Go out for brunch
    -        Meet each other after work for appetizers
    -        Go shop looking
    -        Go to a matinee movie

It’s a good idea to compare your lists.  You’ll likely be enlightened about something you never knew
was important to your spouse, and you’ll be able to settle on some quality time that you’ll both enjoy,
instead of spending money for something that you drag your less-than enthusiastic partner along for.

Cheers!
